Abstract:
This research addressed the topic of learning, with a focus on monitoring families in school
activities of children during the COVID-19 pandemic under the representation of teachers. In
view of the changes caused by the aforementioned illness in the educational scenario, mainly
with the implementation of remote classes, for which family monitoring is essential, the need
arose to investigate this new reality with the following objective: Knowing how Elementary
School teachers perceive the ability of families to contribute to children's school learning
during that pandemic. The main theoretical contribution involves: Vasconcelos (1989),
Parolim (2003), Lacasa (2007), Oliveira and Marinho-Araújo (2010), Crepaldi (2017),
Campos-Ramos (2016), Moreira and silva (2015), Soares (2010), Souza (2009), Estrella and
Lima (2020), Vieira and Ricci (2020). It is a field study with qualitative research and its locus
is the municipality of Umari – CE. The data collection instrument was the questionnaire and
the subjects were teachers. The data were analyzed using the Content Analysis technique. The
results show that the monitoring of families in children's school activities remotely is essential
to support school work and student learning; some children do not receive this monitoring due
to the lack of adequate computer equipment and internet access; the most dedicated families
are those who value study as a means of progress in life. With remote teaching it was possible
to perceive more evidently the importance of the partnership between family and school in the
process of teaching and learning of the child.
