Resumo:
In order to conceive a portable medical system communicating by electromagnetic waves, a
study of antennas that can be implanted in the human body was developed. For this, the
following steps were done: determination of the frequency band for medical implants; choice
of the human body models to electromagnetic simulation environments; and research of the
types of antennas commonly used in medical applications. The proposed antenna should be
implanted inside the human body. It operates within the frequency band MICS 402‐405 MHz
and has a volume of 10mm x 10mm x 19mm. To detect the transmission signal independently
of the transmitter position and orientation, the antenna should have a similar radiation
pattern when compared to an omnidirectional one. The maximum delivered power for the
antenna was determined so that its SAR value satisfies the regulations and standards in use.
