Resumo:
The objective of this dissertation is to understand the generation of innovation in incubated enterprises based on the absorptive capacity of the incubators' resources. The structure of the work is divided into an introduction, three chapters, which correspond to the specific objectives of the research and, the conclusions. A qualitative study was carried out with different methodological phases: bibliometric study, descriptive case study with the incubator, and study of multiple cases with the incubated. The first article presents an overview of the evolutionary trajectory of research networks on absorptive capacity, between 1976 and 2020. In the second article, we seek to describe the resources provided by the Agribusiness Incubator of Cooperatives, Community Organizations, Associations, and Rural Settlements in the Paraíba Semiarid Region. (IACOC) to incubated ventures. Finally, in the third article, an analysis of the absorptive capacity and the resulting innovation of companies incubated at IACOC is carried out. While the first study presents a bibliometric analysis (chap. 1), the other two present qualitative theoretical-empirical works through semi-structured interviews and documentary research (chapters 2 and 3). Results show the driving and complementary role that incubators can play with incubators and that the absorption capacity is associated with a chance of successfully applying new knowledge for commercial purposes, producing innovation, and superior business performance. The research is of interest to managers of incubators, incubators, and institutional agents involved in the innovation ecosystem.
