Resumo:
The Integrated Internship has as it basis to provide students a direct contact with
the industry and the market. Interns have that opportunity to apply their theoretical
knowledge and develop their practical skills.
This report is a summarized description of the activities performed during Karina
Cordeiro Antas internship period, from July 2011 to March 2012, which means a total of
1,225 working hours. This internship was carried out in the Acumuladores Moura S.A.
Metallurgical Company headquartered in Belo Jardim-PE. The intern was allocated in
the Product Engineering department, which is responsible for automotive battery
design.
The activities started with a variety of training, in which was possible to learn the
company working methodology, problem solving methods, project management and the
development of automotive battery technical projects. Then, the intern spent sometime
learning all steps of the lead-acid battery production process. There was a weekly
participation in technical studies presented in English, which dealt with new
technologies and applications related to batteries. The main activity was to design and
manage automotive lead acid batteries. The intern took part in 9 (nine) projects all these
dedicated for automakers, among them Ford®, Fiat® and General Motors®. For this
purpose, was used the project management methodology based on the company's
Control Pillar with the PMBOK® Guide (Project Management Body of Knowledge).
