Résumé:
This research is a relevant theme for Brazilian historiography, when analyzing female
participation in politics in the city of Monte Horebe (PB), between the years 1983 and 2016.
We analyzed the female representation in Brazilian politics in contemporary times and
verified the insertion, the achievements and the evolution of women in the politics of Horeb.
We studied the political participation of women in the social environment in the municipality
of Monte Horebe, a city in the interior of the state of Paraíba and their roles in political
positions. In relation to neighboring municipalities, women have spent a long time dealing
with politics in the city. The summer vacancies will be the most considered, with only one
woman elected as mayor on this route. The aim was to apprehend the professional
biographical trajectory of each councilor and the mayor, addressing aspects that lead us to
perceive a local political context, and what has been accomplished in her years of activity.
