Resumen:
The production ofthis work was motivated by the need to inquire about the teaching-learning in
Adult and Youth Education in the local context, where we work as a teacher. lt is a qualitative
research, the main research instrument the tie1d book, where each class events recorded over
nine months, in addition, we conducted a literature review on the theme. Some authors have
been central to the development o f this work as Paulo Freire in two major projects: Pedagogy o f
Autonomy ( J 996) and Pedagogy o f the Oppressed (1970), Brzezinski (2008), Pierro (20 1 0),
Arelalo and Alves (2007), among others . The concluding reflections show that there is a lack of
suitable teaching material locally, especially the textbook. Thus, Eja needs of educational
policies tbat break with tbe education and compensatory, consequential, decontextualized
educational material, but rather, that enhance the production of teaching materiais considering
the social and cultural diversity.
