Abstract:
RFID technology (Radio Frequency Identification) has been widely
developed recently. TAGSYS, company where the internship has taken place, is
one of the world leaders of this technology. The textile sector is the most
important of the company. The aim of this internship is to study and improve the
tags for this sector, more precisely for the mat, carpets rented by laundries.
These tags are based mainly on:
- a module, the Mutrak, integrated circuit in which there is the chip and its
adaptive circuit (coupling loop);
- a meandered dipole antenna coupled magnetically to the Mutrak.
The material in which those tags are attached must be meticulously taken into
account in the simulations (losses and permittivity). A full characterisation of the
MaTrak, tag used to be attached in carpets, has been made. The impact of the
vulcanisation process (attachment of the tag into the mat) and the influence of
the other tags around are studied. Simulations and measurements show that
MaTrak is extremely sensible to those parameters. So, a new tag has been
developed, more wideband, to fulfil the traceability needs of carpet sector of
textile.
