Resumo:
The civil construction sector is the one that most exploits natural resources, and is the one that generates the most waste. Thus, the objective of this work is to assess environmental impacts in the irregular disposal of solid waste from civil construction in the municipality of
Guarabira-PB. The methodology consisted of conducting bibliographic research, field visits, photo-documentation and using geoprocessing and environmental impact assessment tools. A simplified environmental diagnosis of the study area was prepared. Through the methods of assessing environmental impacts, Ad Hoc, Check Lists and Interaction Matrix, the environmental impacts were identified and classified, in a qualitative and quantitative way, highlighting the significant impacts. Subsequently, environmental control measures and environmental plans and programs were proposed. Based on the results, it was found that the main components affected by environmental impacts were: water, soil, climate, flora, fauna, land use and occupation and socioeconomic factor, respectively. The main environmental impacts identified were: acceleration of erosion processes, destruction of vegetation, alteration of natural drainage, loss of plant species, alteration of air quality, air pollution and alteration of the soil profile. Among the environmental control measures indicated, the following stand out: Avoid unnecessary deforestation, especially in riparian formations and in areas occupied by rare and endangered plant and / or animal species; monitor and promote soil quality control; recompose vegetation after the withdrawal of the RCC. Among the proposed environmental plans and programs, the following stand out: Environmental Education Program, RCC Reuse Program and RCC Management Plan.
