Abstract:
In this work, we present the development of an automatic navigation and control system,
based on the Global Positioning System (GPS), for application in an Autonomous Vehicle
for ReservoirsWater Sensing (VASAR), with the goal of following a pre-defined trajectory.
A GPS device is used to determine the state variables of the vehicle, such as position, speed
and direction. All data are acquired and processed on a PIC16F877A microcontroller,
designed by Microchip. To test the navigation system, a miniaturized VASAR prototype
was created.
