Resumo:
The amphibians are extremely important animais in ecological relationships, allowing the
balance in conditions o f survi' ai for incontestable specíes. The Leptodactyl idac is broadly
distríbuted by the Ameríca's and \ ei) di verse. lt is represented b) tive genrcs. being the
Leptodactylus the most representative with 88 spccies. Leptodactylusmacrostcrnum is a frog
o f medi um postage that tolerates a large gamma o f habitats. being found both in enviroments
o f wet tropical norests and open areas. like in environment of savana and fields. The li ver ís
the sccond largest organ of the body and is thc largest gland. Ts the organ in which the
nutrients absorved in the gastro intestinal tract are proccssed and stored to be uti lized by other
organs. Therefore this study have as general objcctive analize the histomorphological aspects
of thc li ver of Leptodactylusmacrostemum. The livers are from animalscolected in the city of
Catolé do Rocha-PB, which were fixated in formalin. remained on it for 24 hours. Posteriorly,
the organ was cleaved.obtained fragments. then they were dehydrated in etilic alcohol
(increasing concentrations). diaphanized b) X) Iene. impregnated and included on paraffm.
Then the cuts have been submited to a hematoxylin-eosin coloration histologic technique,
analized on microscope of light, of brand OL YMPUS BX-49 and photographed on a
photomicroscope OL YMPUS BX-50. The morfometric analysis of the livcr. was performed
using a quadricule with I 00 test points. placed under the histologic cuts colored by
ematoxylin-eosin. The count was made from the prepared blades, wherc were counted 1 O
fields. using the 40x objectivc. Ali the data were analized by non parametric tests of Kruskai-
Wallis with the post hoc of Dunn (P((0.05). The results here pointed have demonstrated this
dependency between the hepatosomatic relation (R WL) of Leptodact)'lusmacrostemum and
the climatic variation of thc area of study. however. thc rain regime have not interfered
significantly on the concentration of kupffer cells. Already the temperature variation of the
area o f study have shov. n have been more sígnificative on the dístríbuition o f these cells on
the hepatíc tissue. thefuncions o f the li ver can change acording to the animal's temperature.
