Resumo:
This paper aims to reflect upon my practice as a teacher of reading, focusing mainly on a
reading project. It presents a narrative of experiences in the classroom with the students of 4th
grade "C" of the Escola Estadual de Ensino Fundamental André Vida! de Negreiros. The
methodology used in this study was based on the method of narrative research. In the project
carried out among students activities were developed to check the reading levei of students in
order to enable and encourage reading practice in the early years of elementary school,
through the diversity o f text genres. In this study, the students showed significant progress in
reading and reading comprehension. I believe that with the activities proposed to students, and
especially in the project reported in this text, I have provided didactic and pedagogical
methodologies to promote steady growth in the expansion of learning, both for me and my
students. In these propositions, I try to understand the student's reading levei, suggesting
ongoing activities to develop and evaluate the progress of each student.
