Abstract:
Ws through the Textbook that most public school students acquire information, and in
some cases the only text that students have. Therefore, the analysis of this material
is increasingly necessary, especially about the content of Ecology, due some
textbooks had errors and teachers have to select what best suits of the content and
of your school. Moreover, scientific discoveries are a continuous process, and
instructional materiais need to be always updated. The objective of this work was to
analyze the content of Ecology in some textbooks of Elementary and Secondary
Education, adopted by three public schools: one of them in the city of Fagundes -PB
and two in the city of Cuité -PB. The analysis occurred between December/2013 and
february/2014, being used six textbooks and applying methodological criteria,
developed according to the Guide Textbook of the National Textbook, Brazil. Among
the six books reviewed two were considered fully satisfactory, two as satisfactory and
two as totally unsatisfactory. No book was considered unsatisfactory. After the
analysis, guidelines have been proposed for the analysis of textbooks, altemative
suggestions for teaching Ecology's contents and indicates the best textbook that
analyzed.
