Resumo:
Violence against women is a public health problem, with alarming rates in Brazil. In the context of the coronavirus pandemic, it is expected that this problem may worsen as the measures of social isolation, in which men and women are living together for longer in their homes, may turn the homes with a history of domestic violence into a real nightmare for these women. Data from the UN indicate that during this quarantine period, domestic violence rates have increased. For this reason, from the public data collection, data analysis and visualization techniques were applied to study the indicators of violence against women before and during the period of social isolation, to understand the impacts of the COVID-19 pandemic on cases of violence against women in Brazil.
