Resumo:
Mathematic, o ver time, has raised "fears" and ''trauma" for many. lts wide variety of concepts,
theorems and definitions, contributed to mystify that mathematics was "made for the few".
The search for different methods to facilitate the process ofteaching and leaming of
mathematics is a challenge faced by many scholars. Working with the students' prior
knowledge is oneway of achieving success in applied content and can link theory with
practice. Given the concems about how is the process o f teaching and leaming mathematics
this paper conducted and investigation at the Municipal School ofCiementina Ana Conception
(EMMAC) at Jacanal RN H Elementary School, to understand the interest of the school
mathematics teachers the discipline and understand the deviation function shown in EMACC.
It was made a qualitative research, where results were recorded by observing the behavior of
students, talk with teachers and guidance and questionnaire given to teachers ofinathematic.
Students appear to be increasingly disinterested and disruptive and the teachers to teach more
unattractive and seek different methods that alJow a better development of mathematics.
Scholars in the field of Education show how important it is to enter the school context tbe
students' prior knowledge. With so many interjections seek to understand, through hard data,
what ali the gloom. This work aimed toenoourage mathematics teachers to study subjects that
are important to the development of discipline and reflect on the problems of education and
their teaching practice.
