Abstract

The present monograph work has as objective to analyze and reflect on the final disposal of solid waste in Sousa county ­ PB by a thorough investigation of how it is done this final deposit, and what are the main environmental impacts caused by this action, the investigated area with emphasis on deposition that occurs in the open on public roads of the city, and how the solid waste collectors are adapted to the implementation of the landfill. The research adopted was the theoretical and methodological, whose foundation was given from studies related to the subject prescribed in order to achieve greater understanding of the subject under discussion by the concepts presented by some authors in the field. It has been found throughout the investigative process that the final disposal of solid waste in the study area, which can not be called a landfill, since it does not have the necessary requirements that a true landfill has not meet the legal requirements in this context, we emphasize the reality of the landfill, which is just a garbage ump in the open, where there is the presence of animals, disease vectors, nor because proper treatment of manure with the waste disposal without no tillage.
