Resumo:
This thesis aimed to analyze teaching practices in ethics education in the early years of
elementary education in public schools, specifically characterizing the conceptions of
ethics that guide the teaching practices in elementary school, as well as checking the
practices that mediate teaching ethics from the perspective of teachers and identifying
the main challenges in the ethics of teaching in the school context. For this, the research
was conducted in two public schools in the public education network in the city of
Barro - CE, with five teachers in the early years of elementary school. Research with
qualitative approach, had as a tool for development a semi-structured interview,
counting an average of six questions, so in order to reach the proposed goals. From the
data analysis, it was found that ethics is conceived as a value, that is, ethics is related to
human values, and respect is the value associated with ethics more effectively. This
design makes the most of the teaching practices that mediate the ethical teaching is
constituted with work in promoting respect. In a perspective of ethics more normative
and moral character, pedagogical practices are carried out seeking to regulate the
conduct of students to try to ensure the proper functioning of the school space. The
effectiveness of these practices happen in a comprehensive and interdisciplinary
manner, with a view that ethics is present in all subjects and in all situations in the
classroom. However, the proposal of Transversal themes contained in the National
Curriculum Parameters does not exercise effective power orientation to pedagogical
practices with the didactic work with the ethical issue of education. As for the prospects
and challenges with this teaching in the school context are made, for example, the
growth of the student in terms of respect, unity and behavior as well as the professional
and personal growth of the teacher himself. Lack of family support is emphasized on the
need to strengthen the teaching practices, and that conceives the school education act
only as a part or complement the student's education. The experience of individualism
in the present day is also highlighted and seen as challenging factor in teaching on the
subject of ethics. In this context, we consider that ethics is present in all human
activities and all social spaces in which the subject is inserted. The school as a social
institution is one of those formative spaces of the human being, and that can and should
significantly effect by teaching action an educational work covering ethics didactically
in everyday classrooms.
