Resumo:
Aging is a process of normal development of the human body, which are
involved in various aspects which cause neurobiological, functional and chemical changes
associated with environmental and social and cultural factors, being a phenomenon that
intensifies each year. Objective: To conduct an integrative review of national literature on the
nursing care directed the elderly population in the Family Health Strategy - ESF. Method:
integrative li terature review to search for articles in LILACS, BDENF and Coleciona SUS
data using the keywords Family Health Strategy and elderly and nursing and elderly and
nursing and public health. Articles found, 15 were selected for the final analysis. Results:
Most studies selected for this research are the LILACS database, developed in the south-
central region, with a qualitative approach, in article format, developed by teachers and
doctors. The studies addressed the issue of health nursing care of the elderly in the Family
Health Strategy emphasizing four categories: The nursing care to the elderly in the ESF: The
strategies of nursing care to the elderly in the ESF; Difficulties and skills of nurses in elderly
care in the ESF and lhe importance of family in caring for the elderly. Final Thoughts: The
ESF has an important role in assisting the elderly, should assist this growing population
gradually to both nursing professionals must qualify to serve them and develop strategies
specific care for this population.
