Resumo:
The wounds are neoplastic changes in skin integrity arising from the growth and intiltration of
cells into structures oncotic skin due to uncontrolled growth of cancerous cells during the
process of oncogenesis. The nurse plays a role of great importance in the care of this patient
due to prolonged contact with the sarne. In this sense it must have scientific knowledge and
expertise to provide a differentiated and comprehensive patient and farnily care. his study
investigated the evaluation process and the clinicai management of patients with malignant
wounds by nurses. This is an exploratory study, qualitative in nature, developed in August
2014 with 10 clinicai nurses who in a charity hospital that provides care to patients with
advanced cancer. Data collection \\'as conducted through semi-structured interviews and
analysis was performed by means of Technical Analysis of the Content of Bardin. which
enabled the construction of seven categories. lt was found that the lack of independence of
continuing education and professional in wound leads to surface evaluation; that the absence
of protocols and submission of the nursing category medicai practitioners complicates the
assessment and effective treatment. Revealed a need for investment in continuing education
and the implementation of protocols that support greater autonomy of nurses in dccision
making, ensuring legal for these professionals to improve care for people with malignant
wounds backing.
