Abstract

The present work consists of the traineeship report of the student of electrical engineering José Helton Tavares Maia, in the Vale Verde Empreendimentos LTDA - RN, Usina de Açúcar e Álcool company, besides being a cogenerator of electric energy. This was accomplished after the accomplishment of the proposed activities, which had as objective the understanding on the use, handling and operation of the most diverse types of electric motors, as well as the preventive maintenances in motors and synchronous generators of high tension. The ABNT standards were followed in order to attest its electrical characteristics for a full functioning. In addition to the standards and instructions contained in the instructions provided by the manufacturer of the WEG equipment, visual identification techniques were used to inspect electrical failures in motors and electric generators, these techniques were improved with the help of the teachings transmitted by professionals of companies such as FC servisse and ECOVIS, responsible for maintenance activities.
