Resumo:
Introduction: Palliative care is a health care approach that aims to improve the quality of life
for patients in advanced stages of serious diseases, incurable and progressive, aiming the
control of physical and psychological signs and symptoms. The geographical, cultural and
emotional closeness of the primary health care professionals can contribute much to the care
of people with chronic diseases occur in a humane way, respecting the autonomy of patients
and families in a coordinated manner. Objective: To know the opinions of nurses of the
Family Health Program on the implementation of palliative care in primary care.
Methodology: This is an integrative literature review that aims to gather and synthesize
results of research on the perception of the primary health care nurses on palliative care. It
was used as inclusion criteria for articles in Portuguese, English and Spanish; publications
available in the free form of full and articles that addressed the issue in question, excluding
documents that did not meet these criteria. two searches were carried out at Scielo databases,
Bireme and Lilacs. In the first using the keywords "Palliative Care" and "Primary Health
Care". In the second descriptors were adopted "Palliative Care", "Primary Health Care" and
"Nursing". In both searches, the descriptors were applied in three languages described.
Results and Discussion: In the first search found 2677 publications, with the removal of
duplicate items and applying the exclusion criteria, 09 articles were left for analysis. In the
second search was found 611 documents, eliminating duplicate items, and with the use of the
exclusion criteria, remaining 02 documents for review. 11 articles were analyzed, according to
the author, year of publication, title, objectives and main results of each document. From this
analysis it was carried out by categories, which are: Ethics in Palliative Care; Difficulties
related to graduation; Need for specific training; Difficulties refer the patient to other services
and Recommendations for nursing practice. Conclusion: They realized, many difficulties
faced by palliative caregivers for their actions, from academic aspects to ethical. The
importance of the nurse as caregiver should be emphasized and deficiencies remedied in
accordance with their demands that thus occurs a better quality of life given to people who no
longer have a cure as reality.
