Abstract:
This work shows a hydraulic system used to test and validate Ventricular Assist Device (VADs). This system may be adjusted at several operating conditions and is monitored by experimental tests in the hydraulic system, a 0D model was proposed and developed for an specific pediatric VAD (pVAD) and for the entire hydraulic system, based on the models, the least squares method (LSQ) and the estended Kalman filter (EKF) were used. This 0D model was validated by computacional simulations and can be coupled to a 0D model of the cardiovascular system to evaluate the cardiovascular response under pVAD assistance.
