Resumo:
Today, the production and disposal of solid waste is a matter of relevant public interest
in the academic and legal sphere given the relevance of the discussions surrounding
the theme, as well as the need for a new socio-environmental dynamic of actions aimed
at environmental sustainability. In this sense, the National Solid Waste Policy (PNRS),
instituted by Law No. 12,305 / 2010, emerged with the objective of carrying out solid
waste management in Brazil. The analysis of legal aspects, compliance with
environmental standards and the responsibility of agents are fundamental issues that
involve the theme. This is because the environmental impacts of poor management
and non-compliance with legal regulations directly affect not only the environment, but
also human health. The present study, in this sense, seeks to analyze how the solid
waste management of the company Solo Refeições, located in the Agreste branch of
Pernambuco, is carried out in the supply of food to the workers of the São Francisco
River Integration Project, with a view to to identify if the solid waste management
adopted by the company is in compliance with the dictates of Law No. 12,305 / 2010.
The methodology was characterized by an exploratory case study, with a qualitative
and quantitative approach, externalized through a bibliographic research and
observational analysis, using the deductive method. It is concluded that the company
is concerned with minimizing the environmental impacts generated by the
management of solid waste, adopting several mitigation strategies during the food
preparation processes, when serving meals as well as in the collection and final
destination of the products. solid waste. However, some improvements can be
adopted, in order to further mitigate the impacts of production on the environment as
well as optimize the company's activity.
