Abstract:
Sustainability is linked to discussions about the future of cities, of
a way that provides better conditions for urban spaces, that is, to make cities
sustainable. Studying the growth and maintenance of cities requires a complex
knowledge, and thus this work aims to assess the perception of citizens of the
municipality of SousaPB,
based on the Sustainable Development Goals 11
(ODS 11). The methodology applied was exploratory and descriptive, with data collected by the
survey method, with the application of a questionnaire, available on the Internet through the
Google Forms platform. The questionnaire had questions related to twelve
axes involving the ten goals of SDG 11, Accountability and Transparency and was
answered by 389 people. Stood up,
based on the results obtained, the general perception
of the city, as well as established
comparisons between perceptions at the country level and with
municipalities that were considered the most expressive, according to the number of
respondents in the “Sustainable Cities Consultation (2020)”. Highlight
that the thematic axis that
obtained the highest score, was Environmental Impact of Cities, and with negative performance in the
field of Disaster Coping Policies. The results show the availability
of an instrument so that the municipal management can reassess its policies and forms of
performance, as well as the need to establish effective communication with citizens, in the
sense of dissemination of existing public policies and implementation of new ones, meeting the
needs of the population.
