Resumo:
The world has experienced the worst health crisis in recent years, due to the new coronavirus. New social coexistence rules were implemented to face COVID19. The activities developed by the INSS were impacted by the new reality of virtual
communication, interfering, above all, in the analysis of aid for temporary disability, which requires medical expertise. The work analyzed the solutions adopted by the INSS
to provide a quick and efficient public service, based on a qualitative and deductive research, which traced the evolution of the benefit, scrutinized the way the INSS process was conducted before the pandemic and examined the impact of this crisis in service to
policyholders. The work concluded that, despite the solutions adopted by the Public Power, the pandemic potentiated the structural dysfunctions of the INSS, contributing to the slowness and inefficiency in the administrative process aimed at granting aid for temporary incapacity, which violates rights enshrined in the Federal Constitution.
