Abstract:
In this thesis we studied the axial gravitational perturbations to the self-dual black
hole spacetime. This class of black holes is spherically symmetric, it arises from loop quantum gravity, and it has an interesting property of self-duality, which allows such black hole may have a smaller mass than the Planck mass. From a perturbation of the metric in
the fi rst order, found a Schrodinger-type equation (Regge-Wheeler) and then by using
the WKB method, we were able to calculate the quasinormais modes associated with the
wave equation. The self dual black holes were stable when subjected to these gravitational perturbations. Thus, it is possible the existence of such black holes in our universe.
