Resumen:
The aging process is a multifactorial phenomenon, characterized by
several changes with regard to biological, psychological and social aspects that in
together, they move towards the physiological and functional limitations of the elderly person. THE
frailty and dependence, which makes the elderly unable to move, restricting them to
bed, usually progress to immobilization syndromes, this in turn has the
main consequence of the formation of pressure ulcers (UPP). General objective: Inquire
prevention measures for pressure ulcers provided to immobility elderly
by the Cuité Family Health Strategy. Specific: Characterize the partner profile
demographic of elderly people with immobility in the municipality of Cuité; investigate the factors of
risks for the development of UPP in elderly with immobility from the scale of
Braden. in the municipality of Cuité~ unveil the guidelines for prevention measures by
Family Health Strategy for elderly people with immobility in the municipality of Cuité; identify the
actions to minimize or eliminate risk factors for UPP. Methodology: The study was
a field research, with a descriptive exploratory nature of a quantitative approach A
Data collection was carried out from May to June 2015, using an instrument
form-type with data presentation through graphs and tables and analysis from
pertinent literature. Results: 50 elderly people participated, being 70% female and
30% male, aged between 81 and 90 years, education level
predominantly illiterate (54%), white (92%), widowed (52%) and receiving
government retirement income (90%). Considering that 80% of
participants interviewed have underlying diseases, including cardiovascular ones,
endocrine, osteoarticular, neurological and peripheral vascular diseases, in which 100% of the
sample has risk factors for UPP, but adopt preventive measures and only 20%
of the participants receive guidance for the prevention of UPP. Final Considerations: From this
In this way, it is observed that the general and specific objectives were achieved and that nursing
it is ineffective with regard to guidelines on preventive measures for injuries to
skin of the elderly population in the municipality of Cuité; leaving such attitudes to responsibility
of family members and caregivers, not paying attention to the proper care to protect the tissue
integumentary with development of the UPP. It is suggested from this study that not only the
nursing, but also the entire multidisciplinary team of the Family Health Strategies
of the municipality of Cuité-PB can rethink and adopt educational measures and actions, for better
guide dependent elderly people, caregivers and their families to prevent or minimize the
UPP risks.
