Resumen:
The construction industry is considered one of the largest sectors of the world economy,
however, it is one of the most dangerous industries, according to data published by global health
and safety associations. This work is a research whose objective is to identify the main
approaches to work accidents in the Civil Construction Industry from 2000 to 2020. Therefore,
a Systematic Literature Review (RSL) was adopted as the methodological procedure, with the
model proposed by Mayring (2003) and adapted for the present research. The results of this
review were listed and divided between the sample's descriptive statistics, with relationship
network analyzes through the use of the VOSViewer software, and content analysis. From the
RSL, it was understood which reasons lead workers to practice unsafe acts, the main causes of
injuries and which are the forms of prevention. In view of this, it was identified that falls from
a height, fallen objects and materials, and not using PPE, are the most frequent causes of
accidents. While safety training, risk assessments and use of PPE were the main preventive
measures observed during a survey. It was concluded, therefore, that the construction industry
still faces significant obstacles in relation to the occurrence of work accidents and that there is
an increase in research in this area. In a complementary manner, the main points related to the
theme were diagnosed and identified, which will serve as a basis for the adoption of
improvements and will provide the best work and quality of life for workers in the sector.
