Resumo:
Agriculture is a work activity that requires, in addition to knowledge of daily practice, the
exhaustive exercise of the function, thus being one of the activities that requires special
attention. In this sense, the woman farmer when performing the activity throughout her
pregnancy is exposed, due to her work activity to factors, physical, chemical and biological. Based on this premise, the study aims to identify occupational risks in the work process of pregnant women workers in the field. Methodologically, the research is a field study, retrospective, with an exploratory character and qualitative approach carried out with 50 women attended at the Maternity Dr. Deodato Cartaxo located in the municipality of Cajazeiras-PB. The inclusion criteria established were: pregnant women who declared
themselves to be farmers and who were willing to participate in the research freely and spontaneously after formal acceptance in a Free and Informed Consent Term (FICT), for data collection, a semi-structured interview script, where they were analyzed qualitatively using the content analysis technique proposed by Bardin. The study complied with Resolution 466/2012, given the basic premises of research ethics. The results showed that the profile of the pregnant women are women aged between 15 and 25, in a stable relationship, farmers with incomplete basic education, have a family income of one minimum wage, most of them live in the rural area, in a rented house; they work from 3 to 5 hours a day, including during pregnancy; of the 12 interviewees who were exposed to some chemical substance, the main clinical manifestations were: nausea, dry mouth, itchy body, dizziness, vomiting and blurred vision. In prenatal care, most say they received instructions on the risks of agricultural activity, they were in their first pregnancy, but they had already had more than 2 births, as well as 1 to 2 abortions; the delivery most performed by them was cesarean section, the interpartal interval ranged from 1 to 2 years. Although the pregnancy was not planned, the women said they correctly performed prenatal care, ranging from 4 to 6 consultations and the majority did not have any complications during prenatal care. It is concluded that women farmers can exercise their role as mothers, women, professionals, but they need guidance to combat and prevent possible problems related to disinformation, seeking to minimize the risks inherent in their work activity.
