Resumo:
Based on the principies for education, set by national legislation, primarily by
the Federal Constitution of 1988 and reinforced by the Law of Guidelines and
Bases of National Education of 1996, which reter to the qualification for work,
preparation for the exercise of citizenship, and Such as the full development of
the learner, the present research aimed to analyze the distance that is put
between the expected purposes for the national basic education and the reality
in the teaching of the EJA at the Orlando Venâncio dos Santos State High
School in the municipality of Cuité-PB . To do so, this research was based on a
qualitativa study of descriptive character, based on the method of content
analysis. In order to collect data, a questionnaire for EJA teachers in the area of
study of this research was elaborated, four subjects to be analyzed, being: 1-
Exercise of citizenship, 2- Personal identity of the student, 3- Qualification For
the work and 4 - Full training of the student, which served as basis for the
examination of said questionnaire. At the end of the research, it turned out that
although the above-mentioned principies of education are taken into account by
teachers in the development of their teaching actions, there are severa!
obstacles that hamper the success of this task.
