Resumen:
The discourse about the importance and the role of family agriculture in the development of the country has been standing out over the years, mainly for the generation of employment and income and development of small rural producers in several locations, and a significant amount of local agricultural production comes from family farming, with this, the implementation of public policies such as The National Program for the Strengthening of Family Agriculture (PRONAF) stands out. The central aim of this article is to analyze the characteristics and distribution of PRONAF resources, correlating the local economic growth in the city of Cajazeiras – PB to the volume of the program resources. For this purpose, a documental, bibliographical, exploratory research of a quanti-qualitative approach will be carried out, whose data will be collected from the System of Rural Credit Operations and Proagro (SICOR), from the Rural Credit Data Matrix (MDCR), and the Brasilian Institute of Geography and Statistics (IBGE), from 2006 to 2016, making a 10 years epistemological cut. The statistical data will be processed in scales and converted into graphs, in order to expose the results with greater visibility, providing greater understanding about the proposed subject and assisting in possible solutions, being discussed according to relevant literature, following the ethical compliances, and respecting the legal principals. The research revealed that PRONAF is very important for the formation of the agricultural PIB in the municipality of Cajazeiras - PB and that if all producers had the technical support, the result generated would inevitably be superior to what is currently obtained.
