Resumo:
Ln the contemporary capitalist world there is a strong instability in the labor market, where the
links and the formation of identities from work is an increasingly rare process. The solidarity
cconomy to be competitive in the capitalist market cannot avoid the concentration that
incorporates technical progress. The solidarity economy appears in severa! countries as an
alternative to unemployment and to new forms of social organization with non-capitalist
characteristics, even though thcy are inserted in the system. This paper analyzes the
particularities of the Solidarity Economy movement under the aegis of the Young
Environmentalists Program, with an emphasis on the problematization of this linkagc in the
municipality of Picuí I PB. In this way, we sought to characterize the Solidarity Economy
movement in the city o f Picuí I PB, especially taking as the locus o f policy development, the
institutional scope of the Young Environmentalists Program, highlighting tbe advances,
challenges and problematizing some theoretical and practical aspects present in Their
materialization and which are related to the efficiency and effectiveness of the movement in
the socio-welfare field. According to data presented in the national plan of policies for
women. the national sample survey (PNADIIBGE) 2003, reveals tbat women participate in
50% ofthe Jabour market and represent 42% ofthe workforce in the formal work and 57% in
informal work, that without considering the unpaid domestic work performed by women on a
daily basis in their homes. Thus. through the criticai appropriation of the object, it was
possible to point out some elements that cross the Solidarity Economy movement in the city
of Picuí I PB, while its approach to social policy, in the sense of problematizing the
institutionalization o f actions, the difficulties of the process o f Self-management, fostering or
deepening the organizational political potential ofthe program.
