Resumo:
This work aims to propose an approach to logarithms. Initially, we will make a history of the invention of the logarithm as a simplifier of calculations in the 16th century and of the main mathematicians responsible for the discovery that facilitated the work of astronomers and navigators at the time, and its current study as a function. Then we will define the Logarithmic Function, its properties and its inverse, the Exponential Function. These functions are ideal models for certain variation phenomena, for solving everyday problems. The first order differential equations for the exponential function will also be presented, as well as some models and applications.
