Resumo:
The automotive battery is an electric accumulator that accumulates energy in the
chemical form, and later converts it into electrical energy. For this process to work efficiently,
it is very important to know the quality of its components and its manufacturing process. These
factors are decisive and differentiate the quality between one battery and another in the market.
Moura is one of the largest battery companies in South America, currently equipping more than
50% of the new cars circulating in Brazil. The activities carried out in the integrated internship
were carried out at Acumuladores Moura S.A. - Unit 01, located in the city of Belo Jardim -
PE, 180 km from the capital Recife. The internship took place in the period between May 2018
and February 2019. In Moura Matriz Process Engineering, it was possible to use knowledge
acquired during the course of Electrical Engineering in the application in the lead-acid battery
industry. The process of battery manufacturing was known, focusing on the process of charging
and finishing batteries. The daily practical experience during the internship period has
contributed significantly to professional training, The daily practical experience during the
traineeship period contributed significantly to professional training, working to support battery
production and, among several functions: the preparation and modification of documents, the
search for opportunities that can reduce costs and increase profits and productivity, processes
improvement projects, using the WCM methodology and applying tools such as PDCA,
monitoring of process standards, standardization of production processes, control of process
parameters, adapting them to the needs required for the product and the constraints imposed by
the productive environment, ensuring the excellence of product quality in order to satisfy the
customer.
