Abstract:
This work aims to obtain analytical solutions for the diffusion equation
using Fourier Series. For this, initially a review was made about the sequence
numerical and on numerical and function series. Next, we present the Series of
Fourier and some important results related to these, which we use
later to find the analytical solutions for the diffusion equation. At
said solutions were obtained for the geometries of an infinite wall and a
sphere.Finally we present an application of the analytical solution to the geometry of
a sphere, for the description of the mass transfer present in a process of
osmotic dehydration. Through this work, the importance of the Series of
Fourier to obtain analytical solutions of EDPs and the importance of the equation of
diffusion to describe the mass transfer process.
