Resumo:
Concern for sustainable developrnent represents the possibility of ensuring
sociopolitical changes that do not compromise the ecological and social systems
that sustain communities. There is a need for a socio-environmental education
capable of provoking changes in attitudes in the cornmunity, considering the quality
of life of students closely linked to sustainable development, interconnecting social
and environmental responsibilities, considering environmental projects as a target
for diffusion of learning and articulation of knowledge by proposing a Through a
non-formal youth education. Based on the importance and scientific complexity of
EJA, solidarity economy and sustainability, this work sought to make an analysis of
knowledge and inforrnation about the activities developed by young people in the
Young Environmentalist Project in the city of Picuí, Paraíba. This work constitutes
a qualitative research of descriptive character. Solidarity economy was found
around the activities of the program, in which stimulation, cooperation, trust and
solidarity between students and collaborators takes place. These stimuli hide the
strengthening o f the right to citizenship and the improvement o f the quality o f life.
