Resumen:
This work presents a discussion about the Military Dictatorship (19641985) established in theBrazil and its influences in the context of politics in Paraíba and in the city of Cajazeiras. on the 1st ofApril 1964, a dictatorial regime was installed in our country, which totally changed thepolitical system, inserting a culture of repression, persecution, torture and death. AtParaíba, it was no different, the military regime had been influential to the point of removing the governor of theState, since this was not in favor of the military. In the city of Cajazeiras, located in the upper backlands of the state, the military dictatorship was strongly supported by its representatives and the context of terror also devastated the local people. However, theemergence of militancy, such as the student movement in Cajazeirense, challenged and foughtagainst the regime, thus showing the dissatisfaction of part of the population, who for notagreeing with the ideals espoused by the military did not obtain any benefits from thesystem. On the contrary, they were highly persecuted, imprisoned and even killed byconfront the current political system. Therefore, we base our work on the bibliography.already existing about the dictatorship in Brazil and Paraíba, and in the reports of Edival Nunes daSilva, known as Cajá, who lived and suffered with the regime in the city of Cajazeiras, being a militant of the student movement, founded by him in the city, emphasizinghighlighted events of the period, as well as analyzing their experiences andimportance of the regime's protesting movements.
