Resumen:
This text is the result of master's research developed in the field of teaching Sociology, through the production of didactic material using cordel literature as a pedagogical resource in the context of sociology classes for rural schools in Cariri, Paraíba. Cordel is an important tool to facilitate sociological learning and overcome gaps left by traditional teaching. Thus, this research aims to produce a string as a didactic resource for rural sociology classes for rural schools in Cariri, in Paraíba, with the theme "Social Movements in the Brazilian Countryside", accompanied by a mediation script to be applied by the sociology teacher in his classroom practice. In developing the research, we used the theoretical assumptions of qualitative research, in which data collection was used, through the application of questionnaires to teachers who teach Sociology in schools in Cariri, Paraíba and the production of teaching material in the laboratory, such as the cordel, the didactic sequence and the directed study. In the course of the research, we verified that this production of didactic material (the cordel), based on studies of the teaching of Sociology, can offer important subsidies for the pedagogical training of sociology teachers. So that teaching resources do not fall into the void of thoughtless pedagogical practices. As well as the string on social movements in the Brazilian countryside, it can serve as a guide for the process of initial and continuing education of sociology teachers who work in secondary education.
