Résumé:
This work applies the concepts and methods related to Lightning Protection Systems
(SPDA) and Surge Protection Measures (MPS) for the analysis of the need to install the system
in some classroom blocks at the Federal University of Campina Grande.
In addressing the theme, it will be described from the source of the lightning discharge to
the system of capture, descent, grounding and equipotentialization of the building under study.
In this work we find the descriptions of the three usual methods of protection against lightning
strikes, the angle of protection method, the mesh method and the rolling ball method.
Finally, a case study was carried out in the CAA block, from the risk management analysis
to the lightning protection project, as well as all the necessary calculations for the project. The
method used was the mesh method.
