Resumo:
This work inserts in the continuing teacher training and and search to analyze the
construction of the Professional Identity of Teaching Supervisors from the actions of the
Institutional Program of Scholarships for TeachingPIBID of Geography of the Training
Center of ProfessorsCFP of the Federal University of Campina Grande UFCG, in the
Campus of Cajazeiras PB. The interlocutor teachers in the research work for more than
thirty years in Basic Education. Our theoretical reference is based on the contributions
of researchers who discuss the continued formation of teachers, the construction of
professional identity, and the teaching of Geography. With regard to methodological
choice, we chose a predominantly qualitative approach, the data collection was
performed through the life history methodology with the application of semistructured
interviews. The purpose of investigating this issue arose from participation in the
Institutional Program of the Initiation to Teaching Grant (PIBID), during a period .from
July 2016 to March 2018,When participating, the interest arose to investigate the
contribution of PIBID in the construction of the professional identity of teachers of the
supervisory teachers because it is necessary to think about whether or not the
contribution of the Program to strengthening In this way, this work will serve as the
basis for other researchers showing the relevance of the program for continuing
education. We conclude that the program contributed significantly, enabling reflection
on what it is to be a teacher, and valuing teaching.
