Resumen:
Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the pharmacist proved to be an indispensable
professional, so researches in order to understand how the virus acts and the role of the
pharmacist are fundamental. Therefore, a research was carried out in the form of an
integrative review through the Scielo, Pubmed, Lilacs and Science Google electronic
databases, during the period of June 10, 2021 and October 5, 2021, in order to compile
information about the COVID-19 virus and the role of the pharmacist. Therefore, it was
possible to verify that the virus is transmitted directly and indirectly through contact with
people affected by SARS-CoV-2, the most effective forms of prevention are through
respiratory labels, there are no effective drug treatments against the COVID virus -19,
vaccines are totally effective and safe and the pharmacist reaffirmed their importance in
this chaotic moment, either through services directly related to the drug, or through
guidance to patients on how to prevent and treat the virus, as well as in the development
of vaccines and monitoring of patients affected, mainly, by the critical state of the disease.
