Resumo:
The puerperium, also called postpartum, is a period that corresponds
essentially the involution of all local and systemic changes in pregnancy and
it starts after leaving the placenta until the return of the menstrual cycle. The puerperium is a
usually very neglected phase of the pregnancy-puerperal cycle. In this sense, it urges the
need for research that can give visibility to the main physical manifestations
and emotional of this period. Thus, the objective of this study is to analyze the scientific production
on assistance and care to the postpartum woman. This is an approach study
quanti-qualitative of the integrative review type. The bibliographic survey was carried out
in August 2021, the sample inclusion criteria were articles available in the
full in the period of the last 10 years (2011-2021); in Portuguese, published in the
databases Virtual Health Library (VHL) and Scientific electronic library
Electronic Library Online (SciELO) and MEDLINE, LILACS and BDENF journals
that was in the public domain (free) and in full. It was used as a strategy for
search the terms from the Health Sciences Descriptors - DeCS/MeSH and we arrive
to the following terms: Puerperium - Comprehensive attention to women's health - Care. After
In this search the terms were paired using the Boolean indicator “AND”. God is
thus the following intersections: "Puerperium AND Integral Attention to Women's Health" and
“Puerperium AND Care”. After applying the filters based on the inclusion criteria
we reached a total of 17 articles. In view of the analysis and discussion of the results, the
findings of the study indicate that postpartum care still presents challenges to be
overcome as it is still focused on technical care and has a majority priority
to care for the newborn. We can also highlight that nursing appears
as a fundamental element for the quality of care received by these
women. It is necessary for there to be extensive training to sensitize the
health team with an emphasis on Nursing to visualize the puerperal women and their
health needs in this period.
