Resumo:
The first thousand days of life, which are counted from the beginning of pregnancy, are
characterized as a window of opportunity to promote habits that can translate health into the
future life of a child, becoming a moment of great importance for the providing a balanced,
complete and nutritionally appropriate diet, in order to result in an effective and healthy child
development. Food allergy (FA), in turn, is a pathology with wide prevalence in the first years
of life, presenting itself through symptoms that affect both the health and the individual's
lifestyle. In this sense, this work aimed to analyze and elucidate the consequences of the
introduction of potentially allergenic foods in reducing the incidence of food allergies. This is
an integrative literature review of the last five years on the early introduction of foods taxed as
allergens. Data collection was carried out in stages, through research in databases and resulted
in the analysis of eleven articles that met the inclusion and exclusion criteria of the study. It can
be seen that the inclusion of highly allergenic foods in complementary feeding has been widely
discussed and handled differently over the years. However, currently, several analyzes are
carried out in order to assess the effects of early insertion of these foods, and they point to a
viable strategy to reduce the prevalence of food allergies.
