Résumé:
Fauna lists are fundamental in the analysis of species richness and distribution,
logo are necessary for the definition of public policies for conservation and protection
of natural resources. Without these, there are difficulties in proposing actions
conservationists due to the irreversible and accelerated loss of biodiversity. Per
this, the Brazilian Committee of Ornithological Records (CBRO) has been dedicated to
periodic updates of the list of birds occurring in Brazil. Considering that the
Caatinga is identified as a domain with a high rate of endemism of southern birds.
Americans, the present work sought to contribute to conservation actions, by
through the survey of the avifauna of the Olho D'água das Onças Ecological Reserve,
located in Picuí, in Seridó Paraibano, an area with a lack of knowledge,
to become a Private Natural Heritage Reserve. The research took place between
March and August 2021, totaling 126 hours of sighting, with 27 hours per
field/monthly. To carry out this, we opted for the method of observation in Points
Fixed, using the ad libitum sense sampling technique or (Sampling of All
the Occurrences). Registered birds were also classified according to their status of
conservation through the IUCN Red List (International Union for the
Conservation of Nature and Natural Resources). In addition, parameters were used
such as: sighting frequency, sample richness, relative abundance, dominance and
diversity in order to know the composition and size of the avifaunistic community
of the studied area. Thus, 88 species were found, distributed in 15 orders and 32
distinct families and all of them are in a situation of Least Concern (LC), according to
IUCN. According to the data obtained for richness of diversity, it was observed that the
area is quite diverse, with almost a quarter of the recorded bird species
in the Caatinga, being of extreme importance the conservation and protection of these animals,
considering that birds are one of the groups that suffer the most direct impact due to the
anthropization, mainly taking into account the fact that the biome is
if related to predatory extractive activities. So, by actually becoming a
Private Natural Heritage Reserve (RPPN) will contribute to the expansion of
protected areas in the Caatinga domains, in the state of Paraíba and in Brazil. Besides
ensure better resource management based on the safe management of fauna and flora to
a possible development of sustainable activities aspiring to the livelihood of
people residing in the community and surroundings.
