Resumen:
This work is a case study carried out at the José Bonifácio Barbosa de Andrade field school,
with the general objective: are the meanings of democratic management in the school, and
the specific objectives are: to characterize the structure and functioning of School
Management ; identify and characterize the instruments of democratization of management
present in the school and analyze the forms and modes of participation of school and
extraschool subjects in school management processes. Where, through interviews with
school and extraschool subjects (management, teachers and parents of students), in order to
gather information to analyze the meanings of democratic management in the school
environment. In this conceptual trajectory, a brief historical approach to the school, rural
education and also School Administration is made. It was verified the importance of the
participation of all school segments in the search for the autonomy of the school institution
and it is concluded that an integration of the different school segments is only possible, if
there is interest and participation of all, in order to effectively achieve the educational.
