Resumen:
In this work presents nontraditional teaching strategies on area of polygons, without any formula presentation or demonstration, finalizing by solving examples. We extrapolate beyond demonstrations, the basic concepts of the subject by citing mathematicians who significantly contributed to the progress of Mathematics. Based on the books from PROFMAT collection and from high school, we seek to develop a methodology to contribute to students learning, through some directed activities, involving the GeoGebra software, since computational resources provides concrete experiences, a research environment, hypotheses considerations and generalizations of mathematical properties, in a considerably shorter time . We also highlight the importance of the teacher brings curiosities and applications to the classroom, as the special cases of triangles area calculation and we also work the formula for Pick formula permits to calculate the area convex and non-convex polygons, simulating the student interest by the subject, then turning classes more interesting.
