Abstract:
This study arises from the need to analyze the impacts of the Pedagogical Residency Program on the initial training of teachers who worked with the program. The motivation arose from the experiences as a resident student of the observations made in the Pedagogical Residency Program (PRP) in a school in the city of Cajazeiras, which is located in a vulnerable neighborhood with little assistance, with rates of violence and socioeconomic inequality. And in parallel to this reality, there is a picture of school failure, with students in the final years of elementary school, presenting considerable difficulties in reading and writing, as well as a lack of interest and permanence in the institution. Its general objective is to highlight the importance of the Pedagogical Residency Program in the training of teachers in the CFPUFCG Pedagogy Course. Therefore, the specific objectives are: To analyze the difficulties and achievements of the teaching career through practical experiences lived in the PRP by undergraduate students in Pedagogy; Understand the contribution of the immersion of Pedagogy students through PRP to teaching practice, Promote a reflection on the practice itself, based on the experiences lived in the actions developed in the PRP. The research methods were constituted through the observation of the classrooms and interviews with the teachers of the classes. The results through the data collection were satisfactory, it was noticed if the interaction of the students as well as the participation increased, in addition, the PRP helped in the training of residents, building the professional future, being able to understand the different realities and particularities, the program enabled knowledge, development and appreciation.
