Resumen:
In Brazil, cases of fires are reported daily in the most diverse types of buildings, which are
responsible for major disasters and losses of both material goods and lives. The country is the
focus of great tragedies caused by fires, to avoid them, some cares are necessary, which are
often neglected. To this end, there are standards and inspection bodies that regularize firerelated
issues. The regulatory standard (NR) 23 establishes the necessary guidelines for the
prevention and combating of fires in buildings, its application must happen correctly so that it
is possible to fight and avoid fire situations. Based on NR23,
it is possible to develop an
appropriate action plan for each type of building, meeting your needs and priorities. Such a plan
is essential for environments with a large number of people in transit, such as hospitals. It is
known that in hospital units there are numerous devices, which require different sources of
power. In addition, a large number of people transit the place 24 hours a day, from professionals
to patients, hence the need to develop a study and suggest improvements for such a location.
So, after observing the needs that environments of this nature present, a study was developed
based on what governs NR – 23, this study was divided into six stages, which were: initial visit
to the location, conversation with managers, preliminary analysis of the location, identification
of nonconformities,
preparation of the proposed solution in the site plan and, finally, the
conclusion of the final emergency plan, which was delivered to the hospital managers in
question. The action plan was developed according to the needs of the environment and based
on the classification of the building according to the CBMPB standards, where the need to
assess and adjust issues such as emergency exits, emergency signage and building fire
extinguishers was identified. Therefore, this work aims to develop a fire protection system in a
hospital located in the city of Serra Branca PB,
as well as the proposition of improvements
and adjustments based on what governs the NR – 23 and the technical standards of the Military
Fire Department of Paraíba (CBMPB).
