Resumo:
The search for quality products and services has become one of the most demanding factors for
consumers. Consequently, in order to win customers, companies began to adapt and improve
their products and processes even more. In view of this, the present work aims to propose
measures to reduce scrap and rework in the cutting sector of an aluminum extrusion company
located in the countryside of São Paulo, generating a positive gain for the company, both for
the productive and financial cycle. To identify and solve the problem, quality tools were used,
through the Sequential Graph the main failures of the sector were detected, later, the causes of
the factors that caused the problem were detailed with the elaboration of the cause and Effect
Diagram, and from the 5W2H tool, improvement proposals were attributed to solve the problem
in order to eliminate the disposal of products and rework in the production process.
