O cárcere e a negação dos direitos das mulheres transexuais e travestis.

Abstract

It is undisputed that the Brazilian penal system reproduces and reinforces prejudices, as the subject labeled as a delinquent finally ends up assuming the role assigned to him. Due to social and structural conditions, the prison is unable to achieve its (supposed) goal of social reintegration, as it has contributed even more to the increase in crime. It proves to be an even more challenging environment for marginalized minorities. Thus, this bibliographical and documentary research used the deductive method to analyze and understand the experiences of the transsexual and travesti population in the current prison system, in view of possible violations of their fundamental rights. From the collected data, it can be seen the denial of several rights and the invisibility condition associated with the transsexual and travesti figure in the national prison environment. The training of bodies for prison was also evidenced, subjecting transsexuals and transvestites to humiliation and multiple sexual servitudes, all due to the lack of protection policies for this specific population.
