Resumo:
This monograph aims to address the transversality of Agrarian Law with Criminal Law, which
consists in the capacity of Agrarian Law to be linked with this legal branch. Therefore, making
a legal record on the historical context of Agrarian Law, describing its characteristics and its
dictates for the implementation of Agrarian Justice in Brazil. In addition to the analysis of police
reports for the collection of data on cross crimes in the municipality of São José de PiranhasPB,
showing the data in graphs and tables, to evaluate them in order to extract information that
show the transversality. This work is characterized as quantitativequalitative
research, while
addressing the statistical data quantitatively regarding
the numbers of crimes perpetrated
between the years 2017 and 2020 and
qualitative regarding
the profile of victims of the
crimes under study. This is a case study, while the research technique used was bibliographical
and documentary. To answer the following question: how to assess the transversality of
Agrarian Law with Criminal Law in the factual reality in the municipality of São José de
Piranhas? Proving or refuting the hypothesis that the records of transverse agrarian crimes do
not reflect their real numbers. Upon concluding this research, it was inferred that the hypothesis
was proven, since many of the transversal agrarian crimes are registered only as crimes of theft
and damage to private property, a fact proven by the reports of the communicators in the part
of the police reports referring to the summary of facts. And, through this analysis, it was
possible to obtain the quantity of approximately 27% of cross agrarian crimes, committed in
the rural area of the municipality under study. It is noticed that the number of crimes is a
significant contingent, as according to data from the Institute of Water and Sanitation (IAS,
2019) show that approximately 43.5% of the population of this municipality lives in rural areas.
